Proverbs 1:5 ESV
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I hope you are expecting a wonderful year in 2024. As for me, I am so looking forward to this year. I have only one New Year’s resolution: to live a resolved life in 2024!
Here are a few things I’ve been pondering to assist me in my goal to live a resolved life. Some are observations and lessons garnered in 2023. Some are revelations gained through experience or from the nudging of the Holy Spirit. Make a list of your own (at least give it some thought).
What did I learn about me?
That I’m not there yet…I’m still growing. I’m still learning.
God can get more out of me if I manage my time better.
Dialing my prayer life to a tighter focus is more effective.
That my body truly is the temple of the Holy Ghost.
Hearing from God takes more time and effort than it used to.
Apathy is the poison of choice as I age.
I’m only here for God’s purpose, nothing else.
What did I learn about others?
Everyone is carrying heavier burdens than others know.
Many around you feel invisible.
Everyone needs someone to slow down and listen.
Everyone wants you to talk to their eyes, not over their shoulder.
Everyone wants to feel valued.
The vast majority of people are loving, kind, and generous.
What did I learn about God?
That my times are really in His hands.
That He doesn’t want me living in fear - it is a weak witness.
My vulnerability is part of His building my trust.
His thoughts and ways are much higher than my mind can imagine.
He is so patient.
He has much more for me to receive.
